Gulfstar 43 ketch sailing ........  This is a beautiful boat in remarkable condition.  She has always been kept in Lake Michigan and has only had two owners.  She has been lightly sailed and well cared for.  This is a spacious, light interior with two separate staterooms and two heads.  Quality built in the United States. New MarineAir reverse cycle heat and air installed in October 1999.

The interior is spacious, with plenty of room for cruising with your family and friends.  The woodwork of beautiful solid teak Gulfstar 43 spacious salonthroughout the boat adds to the ambiance and is in very good condition. The grain of the wood is matched throughout the boat. She has a teak and holly cabin sole.   There is built-in storage everywhere!  And there is plenty of light and ventilation with lots of opening hatches and ports.

There is a large stateroom forward with a spacious vee berth, large hanging locker and plenty of storage to make a longer cruise comfortable. There is a small settee to port to use for dressing.  There is a head forward (with a shower) that has actually had the head itself removed to enable use of the space for a dressing room.  (The head is available to the buyer.)

Next aft is the elegant salon with a settees to port and starboard.  All new upholstery on the settees was done in 1996.  Both settees also extend to form additional berths for guests.  There is a huge beautiful centerline drop-leaf table for entertaining.  You could easily seat eight for dinner.   There are individual  storage cabinets behind the port and starboard settees, with shelves for additional storage. There are overhead hatches with built-in screens with teak frames.  At the front port corner of the salon, is a built-in large hanging locker.

The sit down, outward facing nav station has a huge working surface for all of your charts and reference materials.  She has a swing out navigators stool that locks in position.  The instruments are mounted in easy to read positions and can be moved to custom  removable "bridge" over the companionway so that everything is visible from the helm.

Across from the nav station is the galley. She has deep oversize double S.S. sinks on the centerline with hot and cold pressure water system and a dockside water system. There is a S.S. Shipmate  2 burner stove,  gimbaled  with oven, propane safety shut off,  great counter space, plenty of storage for all of your galley equipment with dish lockers and utensils drawers. Gulfstar 43 galley She has a huge top loading icebox with Adler Barbour Cold Machine refrigeration.

The walk-through to the aft cabin is to starboard aft of the galley.  The walkway has full headroom and very large hanging lockers on the port side, with great access to the engine room on the inside.

The master stateroom is an aft cabin designed with two large singles (or small doubles), one on each side of the cabin arranged in a large vee configuration. A filler cushion could be easily added to make a huge aft berth if desired.  There is plenty of head room, plus great light and ventilation.  There is also a private head inside the stateroom with a shower.  Plenty of room for everything you need, designed for easy access.

Deck and Hull
Center cockpit with full dodger, bimini with full enclosure (all done in 2005). The windows on the side and back roll up to allow screened ventilation. The front panels of the dodger are premium isinglass for clear vision underway. St. Croix rotating dingy davits (new in July 2000), gas BBQ grill, 35# CQR anchor with chain and rode. Danforth style anchor with rode. 3 Blade MaxProp feathering prop new in July 1992), emergency tiller, USCG safety package, spreader lights, swim ladder, fenders and lines, bell. The Gulfstar 43 was built in Florida, with a solid glass hull and deck sandwiched with balsa.

Sails and Rigging
Ketch rig, painted aluminum spars with the main mast stepped on the keel and the mizzen stepped on the deck, internal halyards, Spartite mast chock, Hood SeaFurl roller furlling, S.S. standing rigging, manual boom vang, New mainsail 2005, New mizzen 2008, Hood 150 roller furling genoa, Hood 110 genoa, and a Hood mizzen. She also has a crusing spinnaker with Chute Scoop snuffer.
 

Mechanical & Electrical
Perkins 4-108 50hp FWC diesel, Borg-Warner hydraulic transmission, Kidde automatic CO2 fire extinquisher system in engine room,  Magnetek Converter/battery charger, deluxe electric control panel with circuit breakers, 12V ships system, 110V AC system, 3 battery system with 2 heavy duty batteries for ship's service with switch, engine alarms, emergency engine stop, Marine Air 16,000 BTU central air with digital controls.
