2002 Roberts 44 custom

Roberts 44 waiting for you at the dock ......

This is boat is simply amazing. The owner (and builder) is an incredible craftsman, and did it right. The boat has only been in fresh water, and during our very short season. It is probably the best built and nicely finished Roberts 44 built. The builder had it surveyed after build and the surveyor wrote " The workmanship that has gone into the building of this Yacht is Amazing. Everything Hand Fitted to Perfection, to the Architech's spec .... A Boat to be proud of". Anyone who has ever had a survey done, knows that this type of lavish praise is very unusual.

I am going to give you a brief walk through of the interior, so that you can get a feel for the layout. Then I will list a LOT of details of the construction and the accessories.

As you walk up to the boat, you notice the classic lines, and the beautiful finish. Everything is done to the highest professional standards. Roberts 44 salonThe deck is easy to work, with all lines needed to sail the boat have been brought back to the cockpit. The cockpit is protected by a dodger, has wheel steering and easy access to all you need to sail the boat. The builder installed a small helm seat behind the wheel, to give maximum seating options for the helmsperson.

Then as you go below, you first notice the large, bright and open interior. There are lots of opening ports and hatches to make this a comfortable cruising boat in any locale. Then starting aft on the port side, you find the well equipped nav station tucked in a convenient, yet protected niche behind the galley. Here is all of the electrical control panels for the boat. There is also a full computer, with Wifi, flat screen monitor, keyboard and printer.

Next, moving forward along the port side, is the U-shaped galley. It features a huge icebox with refrigeration, a large double S.S. sink, the gimballed stove with oven, and lots of counterspace. Hot and cold pressure water sytem, lots of counter space, including a fold out to give even more space for preparing food.

Moving forward, next is the salon. There is a spacious U-shaped settee to port, wrapped around a generous dining table. Across to starboard is a single settee. Both the dinette and the settee have storage behind and below. The entire space is light and bright, and all of the ports open for ventilation. The flat screen TV is mounted on the forward bulkhead.

Still moving forward, you next find the separate shower room. A very unusual amenitie in a boat of any size. There are 2 showers on the boat, and 2 heads. They share one large holding tank, and one large sump for both showers.

Then you find the forward head. totally separate from the shower room. The head has a sink with hot and cold pressure water, and lot of storage for all of you cruising needs. This head has private access from the forward stateroom.

Still going forward, we next find the forward stateroom. A roomy vee berth with opening hatch overhead, lots of light and reading lights for both sides of the berth. In the passageway to the forward stateroom (across from the head), you will find lots of storage built-in along the starboard hull and a small settee for getting dressed etc. All within the privacy of the stateroom area.

Then moving aft past the salon, you then find the aft head. This head has a shower included which is also plumbed to the shower sump. Roberts 44 Cruising galleyThis head has access from the salon and great access from the companionway, cockpit and private entry from the aft stateroom.

The private aft stateroom is in the aft starboard "corner" of the boat. Again, there is plenty of room with privacy, for owners or guests to dress in private. There is a small settee, lights for reading and a nice sized hanging locker. Plenty of room for 2 adults to sleep comfortable with opening ports for comfort.
