1979 Newport 41

This is a beautiful two owner, fresh water boat which has only been sailed on an inland lake until 1998 when she was taken to Lake Michigan.  She is longing to stretch her wings and sail to distant horizons. Designed by C & C, this is a fast and solid boat. The picture does not even begin to describe the immaculate condition of this yacht. The first owner made a FULL length cover which was installed on the boat whenever it was not actually being used. The deep red hull, the fresh white deck and the black mast have all been professionally Awlgripped in 1998. All the interior cushions are new in a light offwhite "berber" pattern. The teak and holly sole and teak bulkheads highlight the traditional interior. She has been used only in fresh water and stored inside each winter. All exterior teak has 10 coats of varnish and all interior teak has 8 coats of varnish.

Newport has taken a good design and dressed up the interior. There is a stained glass "window" in the forward bulkhead, leaded glass cabinets, beautiful woodwork and the galley has been completely surfaced with butcher block counter tops.

There is a large vee berth forward with lots of storage and a dressing area. Next aft to port is the large head with separate shower area and a private entrance from the forward stateroom. Another hanging locker and more storage is to starboard across from the head. Coming aft, next is the salon. Both the port dinette and the starboard sette convert to form two additional double berths. To starboard of the companionway is a spacious nav station with a 7' quarterberth behind it.

To port is the U-shaped galley with H/C pressure water, refrigeration, new (1998) gimbaled 2 burner propane stove with oven and a deep double S.S. sink on the centerline. There is plenty of well organized space for storage. The whole interior layout is light and airy with 6 large fixed windows and two opening hatches.  All windows and ports are new in 1998 and 1999.

Rigging, new Harken Series 3 roller furling in 1996, Main, Genoa, Drifter, Nav Lights, Wheel Steering, keel stepped mast, modified fin keel, spade rudder, prop, anchor, wheel cover, Boom Vang, Navtec hydraulic adjustable backstay, sheets and halyards new in 1997, cockpit awning, full length custom lightweigt storage cover is easily handled by one person.  The current owners installed all new port and windows, including frames.  They had these custom made by the original manufacturer.

Engine
New 1997 IB Universal Diesel with full warranty, only 82 hours on the engine. FWC, fuel filters.  The original engine simply died of non-use.
