1996 Beneteau 36s7 - Sold
Beneteau was the first manufacturer to engage World Class architects to design the interiors of their boats and this is a perfect example of how it should work. The unique Philippe Starck interior design shows off the unique glow of the richly varnished pearwood, perfectly set off by the upgraded deep teal upholstery. The whole interior shines like a late summer afternoon. It is bathed in natural light from many opening hatches, forward port lights on the coach roof and the two hull port lights. And the hull designed by Jean Berret gives you sailing performance that others only dream of.
This 36s7 has spent its entire life in fresh water. This First 36s7 is a complete cruiser/racer that has been continuously upgraded and meticulously maintained. She has only had 3 owners and always sailed in fresh water. She has been lightly raced and has a Lake Michigan PHRF rating of 108. She is HULL #1 and is the only 36s7 in the US with a fully measured Americap II handicap certificate used for the Chicago Mackinac Race. The engine has been professionally serviced annually and She has always been shrink wrapped when laid up during winter, until her custom cover was made in 2007.
The forward cabin comfortably sleeps two in a berth that is7' 2" long and 5' 7" wide across the shoulders. It is well-ventilated by a large opening hatch and has a double berth, hanging locker, storage beneath the berth and storage shelves along the hull sides. There are two flush mounted halogen lights for reading.
The salon is next aft with symmetrical settees on each side that make perfect sea berths with their custom fitted lee cloth system. The inlaid centerline dropleaf dining table allows entertaining your family or friends, yet folds for easy movement through the boat in a seaway. The table also features central wine storage and removeable fiddle rails. Storage locker above and behind the settees on both side offer additional storage. There are several opening ports, an opening hatch and a dorade vent in the salon which make this a very light and airy interior.
The galley is on the port aft side of the salon and features a generous icebox with 12V refrigeration. The icebox is drained by an electric bilge pump. There is a 3 burner gimballed S.S. stove with oven, double S.S. sinks with mixing faucet, storage under the sinks, slide out storage bin and trash can, shelving and storage built into the side of the hull, dust tray built into the cabin sole, an opening port and fluorescentoverhead light.
Across from the galley is the nav station. There is a chart table with storage compartment under, a bookshelf, and a mounting panel for all of your nav instruments. There is additional storage under the navigator's seat and a red light for night time charting.
The aft cabin has a huge (6' 7" by 5' 7") berth, a hanging locker, shelves along the hull for your glasses and books. The two opening ports add light and air and make this a great master berth.
The head which is to starboard and aft of the nav station is lined with a one piece fiberglass liner. A brand new Jabsco marine head was installed in 2004. The vanity has a hand wash basin with hot and cold pressure water, shower with 12V sump pump, mirror, S.S. towel rack and another Lewmar opening port. Very comfortable and functional head.
If you are looking for a beautiful boat that is a so much fun to sail, you owe it to yourself to see this one.
