1988 Catalina 30 Tall Rig w/ Diesel
This boat is a must see for someone that is looking for a boat that is truly well maintained, and ready to sail. Owned and sailed by a gentleman who pays attention to details, and takes the best of care of his boat. Newer sails, newer furler, newer canvas and lots of other upgrades.
This is the later reincarnation of the famous Catalina 30 layout. There are additional opening ports and overhead hatches for ventilation, and a sit down nav station that the earlier models lacked.
She has a spacious vee berth forward with a filler cushion and "tons" of storage. Shelves along both walls for your glasses and books, and space under the berth for seabags and other items.
Next aft to port is the head, with a shower and shower sump, hot and cold pressure water and with great great ventilation and light. There is easy access to the thru hulls, and accommodations for a shower curtain. Across from the head are a hanging locker, with a shelf on top, and more built in drawers for additional storage.
The spacious salon is next with an U-shaped dinette to port and a single settee to starboard. This style gives easier access to the dinette for guests and seats more for dinner or snacks. The dinette also converts easily to a huge double berth for the rare occasions when you really need to sleep seven people. The table can also be completely removed for a wide open salon. There is generous storage throughout the salon with storage below and behind the dinette and the settee. There are shelves and cabinets outboard on both sides of the salon. There is a carpet cut to fit the salon floor. The current owner does not use the carpet, but it is available with the boat.
On starboard and just to the right of the companionway is the forward facing, sit-down nav station. There is plenty of room for all of your instruments and it is the electrical hub of the boat. The breaker panel is hinged with a key lock and folds out for safety and easy access for maintenance.
Across from the nav station is the U shaped galley. She has a gimbaled 3 burner propane CSI stove with oven, large ice box, double S.S. sink, hot and cold pressure water system, manual fresh water system, great counter space, plenty of storage for all of your galley equipment and passthrough that allows you to keep the trash in the lazarette with access from the galley.
Aft and to port (behind the nav station) is the generous quarterberth. It extends under the floorof the cockpit to easily sleep a couple. There is an opening port and the front is open to the salon for lots of light and air.
