1986 Legend Hunter 40
A great liveaboard layout with two private staterooms and two heads. The master stateroom is aft with a large centerline island queen bed. There are two large hanging lockers and lots of other storage for the necessities of of life. There is private access to the head with shower and great ventilation. There are a couple of opening hatches and several opening ports in the aft cabin for light and ventilation. There is storage on both sides of the cabin, with a huge storage area under the berth itself. She has made custom fitted bedding (sheets, comforters and pillow with shams) that will go with the boat.
As you move forward, the aft head is to port of the companionway and the walk through galley is to starboard. The head itself is new in 2003. The mahogany seat hinges up for access to the head and down to provide seating while showering. There is a S.S. sink, storage shelf and cabinet stowage, fluorescent light and overhead 12V light, opening port with privacy curtain and screen, more storage protected by sliding Plexiglas panel and a large mirror.
The walk through U-shaped galley is very usable. There is a refrigerator with freezer built into the aft bulkhead and a large icebox further forward. She has a 3 burner gimbaled CSI CNG stove with oven, a built in microwave, a custom mounted toaster over/coffee maker/hot plate, a double stainless steel sink, and hot and cold pressure water and manual fresh water pump. There is lots of storage and plenty of counter space.
The engine is in a compartment that forms the base of the companionway. It is accessible from all four sides. This make routine maintenance and inspection a breeze. On top of the engine compartment and behind the companionway steps are a series of little shelves, very handy for storing all those little things that you like to have accessible from the cockpit.
Next forward and to port is the aft facing nav station with plenty of space for all the electronics. This location at the base of the companionway makes it most accessible from the cockpit.
The main salon features a huge wrap around dining area to starboard and a settee to port. The port settee easily converts into a spacious berth, and the dinette also could sleep an additional guest. There is a teak and holly cabin sole, white walls with hardwood trim, giving the the cabin an open yet traditional feeling. The Weems and Plath bronze clock and barometer add to the warmth of the cabin. There is storage everywhere, in the table for wine and silverware .. behind and above the cushions. Two solar vents (one has a Nicad battery and operates 24/7), 2 opening hatches and 6 opening ports make this a very comfortable salon in any conditions.
The forward cabin is a guest stateroom with a generous vee berth with foam mattress, private access to the head with shower, two large hanging lockers and plenty of room to dress and read in privacy. With two opening overhead hatches, accent lights and reading lights, this is a very light and airy stateroom.
The forward head has a shower with a teak grate and sump, S.S. sink and plenty of storage. It has an opening port to keep it well ventilated and great lighting.
