1984 Sabre 38
Sold - call for similar listings or to sell your current boat....
Sabre has always produced a true quality vessel, handsome and elegant, with all the sailing qualities that you would expect in a boat with this heritage.. Her clean classic lines and recognizable profile will always create a case of "boat envy" in your dock neighbors.
The interior is beautifully finished with rich satin varnished teak woodwork . The thick luxurious interior cushions are done in a subtle cream ultra suede which complements the rich wood for a warm traditional feel to the interior The teak and holly floor also adds to the rich effect, and the owner has the cabin sole varnished each year by Palmer Johnson. With her generous headroom ....... this is a roomy and spacious interior. There are two custom wood screens for the companionway, and screens for the hatches, and with 4 large opening overhead hatches, 8 opening ports and 6 dorade vents, this has to be one of the most airy and well ventilated boats ever.
Starting forward is the vee berth. Light and airy with the large Plexiglas hatch and two opening ports, there is plenty of light and air. There are shelves on both sides for your "little things", storage lockers under the aft end and storage underneath the step. There are addition drawers to starboard for more storage. There is a step installed to make entry and exit easier. The cushions are thick and comfortable. There is private access to the head. A really great vee berth.
Moving aft, the head is to port. She has a manual head with macerator, electric pump out and a large holding tank, a S.S. sink, two opening port lights and an opening overhead hatch give nice light and great ventilation. There are cabinets built in under the sink with lots of mirrors for dressing. She has a separate shower area with a a teak grate and a shower sump with electric pump out. New Odorless hoses were installed in the head in 2003.
Next aft is the salon. She has a settees to port and starboard. There is storage above, behind and below both settees, built-in book shelves with fiddles and storage cabinets with locking doors. There are handholds everywhere to making moving around under sail easy and safe. The beautiful teak dining table fold up against the forward bulkhead to open up the salon for entertaining ....... or it can be lowered and the drop-leaf opens complete across to the starboard settee to enable fine dining for 6 or more. Hidden behind the table (when it is stored), is a built in rack for wine, glass or other small items. The mast is enclosed with a custom ultra suede cover.
The galley is aft of the salon and to port There is hot and cold pressure water and manual water with a deep double S.S. sink The stove has been replaced with a small refrigerator for dockside living. . She has a huge icebox with SeaFrost engine driven refrigeration (currently disconnected). There is plenty of well organized space for storage.
Starboard of the companionway (and across from the galley) is the nav station. The nav station was redesigned and rebuilt in 1992 to better accommodate the instruments and to work more efficiently. There is a large nav counter with a lift up lid and lot of room for charts and all of your other gear. The nav station utilizes the front of the double quarterberth as its seat.
