Cal 25 - Significant Other
One of the great designs of all time. The classic Cal 25 has one of the largest cockpits you've ever seen --- over 8-1/2 feet long. With its long fixed keel, large inboard rudder, low aspect sail plan, this boat is stiff, stable and sails very well. Over 3000 were built.
This is the ideal get-started / budget boat for day sailing, overnighting and family fun. You can learn to sail, learn boatkeeping and get started on this timeless honey.
The boat was painted and completely refitted in ‘88-89, with new, engine, electrical, pulpits and interior. It features a nice large v-berth, enclosed head, dinette/berth and a large galley. The camper top cabin provides 6-foot headroom when up.
The current owner is a former Cal dealer who refitted the boat professionally in his boatyard. He sailed it for 12 years all over Lake Michigan before buying a Cal 35. He kept this 25 as a second boat for his family, who haven’t used it for 2 years.
She is structurally sound.
Entire main cabin modernized and rebuilt in ’87.
Galley has ice box, sink and hand water pump, large storage areas. Dinette
seats 2-4 adults and converts into additional 6’ bunk. Head used
marine toilet with holding tank & pumpout. Head door also can close
off V-berth. Cushions and fabric liner new in ’88. Head liner is vinyl
covered.
