1987 Gozzard 36
If you have never been on board a Gozzard prepare yourself for a treat. This is one of the most interesting layouts I have ever seen on any boat. Ted Gozzard has the most amazing mind and makes the most creative use of the available space.
The cabin in this yacht can be easily be opened up into one large living area or sectioned off into 3 separate cabins for privacy. The bulkhead between the forward cabin and the salon can be raised or lowered to effect the change in the forward part of the vessel and the aft cabin can be separated in a similar manner. The berth in the forward cabin is also unusual. There are two settees against each side of the cabin, which can be swung together to make a huge island double berth. There is a large privacy area for dressing in this cabin, two hanging lockers and tons of additional storage.
The salon has a large dinette to port which also converts easily to another large double berth. The aft cabin also can be opened up to be a part of the living area or closed off completely for privacy. There is also a small dressing area with a seat and table in the cabin. The head is aft to port with shower and a huge wet locker for foulweather gear. She has a 40 gallon holding tank.
The huge L-shaped galley is along the port side of the main cabin. There are two large S.S. sink, a gimballed Force 10 propane stove with oven and broiler, hot and cold pressure water system and manual water system.
Electronics
Autohelm 6000 autopilot, 4" binnacle compass, Horizon Maxi VHF radio,
stereo, Signet SL-80 with knotmeter, log, depth sounder and water temperature
Deck and Hull
White fiberglass hull with clipper bow, full keel with attached rudder
for maximum protection. She is designed with a permanent front windshield
for the dodger. And in true Ted Gozzard fashion, the helm seat folds downand
out to make the most amazing swim platform with ladder combination. You
can just walk straight out the rear of the cockpit and set into the dinghy.
There is a raised gunnel completely surrounding the deck, factory designed
dinghy davits with an 8' North Castle dinghy. She has a Seatiger manual
windlass, 35# CQR anchor, 200' of chain and rode, louvered teak companionway
doors, teak cockpit grate, teak bow platform, spindled taffrail, wonderful
butterfly skylight hatches with built-in screens, saltwater washdown system,
bimini top, cockpit awning, closed cell cockpit cushions, and spreader
lights. There are custom canvas covers for the taffrails and the handrails.
The bottom has been done with Micron CSC.
