This is truly a classic. The kind of boat that makes you want to explore distant horizons. This boat has been in fresh water since 1989 and is in great condition. The exterior teak and all the bronze are in boat show condition. All interior joinery work is select grade solid Burmese teak, no veneers. Bulkheads, sidewalks and interior hull walls of all cabinets and lockers are planked in solid teak. All interior teak surfaces are beautifully hand rubbed in a satin finish. The countertops in the galley and the head are marble. Every interior and exterior detail has been well thought out to give her owners the best in a completely seaworthy and beautiful vessel. This boat has been lovingly cared for by very knowledgeable owners. Lots of upgraded electronics, new sail and lots of upgrades make this boat ready to sail away tomorrow.
The Hans Christian 38 Mark II cutter offers the best in construction and seakindly design of both the hull and the interior. The interior on this vessel was slightly modified by the original owner, who personally supervised her construction. Starting from the bow, there is a large rope locker with belaying pins to hang all of the extra running rigging and lines you could possibly need. Next aft is the head, with the head itself forward and then a large shower area running completely across the bow area. Then to port is the forward stateroom which has a large double berth to port two huge hanging lockers to starboard and tons of storage under the berth. The salon is next with a spacious L-shaped dinette (with fold-down leaves) to port and a single settee to starboard. The settee has a pull out to convert it to a comfortable single berth. There is lots more storage behind both settee in individual louvered cabinets.
Moving further aft to starboard is the nav station with more storage and another hanging locker aft. To port of the companionway is the U-shaped galley. She has a centerline double S.S. sink, huge icebox with both top and front access, and lots more storage. There is a 3 burner gimbaled propane stove with oven and H/C pressure water system with 150 gallons of water. Behind the galley to port is the second stateroom. The interior is light and bright with the white lath and teak batten ceiling, and the interior of the cabin top around the ports is also white with teak trim. The rest of the interior is completely done in hand laid teak with a teak and holly cabin sole. There are eight large opening ports, a large forward hatch over the forward stateroom and a butterfly hatch over the salon.
